LOTV Candles and Cake

Hello! Just a quick card today made with one of the new Lili of the Valley Candles and Cake paper pad and the new Stitched Alphabet set.

I love this new pad, it's my second favourite after Country Lady, I love that it's so bright and colourful. The whole card is made with the pad and they papers all coordinate perfectly so you know they'll match if you're using more than one design. With all the different patterns and colours, you can use it for any occasion but I've made a boy's card this time.

I also absolutely love the Stitched Alphabet because you also get numbers, a heart, a swirl and the star I've used with the papers for some embellishments. I've stuck the letters on to 2mm and 3mm foam pads to be able to tuck some under the others, stuck the stars on foam pads too and with my last card, I've just gone around the edge with a fine tip pen for a wiggly line border.

Anywho, hope you like it!

LOTV Blog Hop - Carriage For Two

Hello!

Another gorgeous image today from the new Lili of the Valley Romantic Couples launch, this one is called 'Carriage For Two' and I think it's probably my favourite.

I don't really like pink so I thought I'd be brave and do a very pink card this time! Thought I would also be a bit adventurous and put everything at an angle and add a few hand drawn lines, I had to ignore my OCD at this point because nothing was straight!

I added a few little gems to this one rather than flowers because pink, wonky angles AND flowers might have been a bit much for me all at once!

I used LOTV's Bonnets and Bowties paper pad, and coloured the image with Baby Pink, Blush, Caramel, Cool Grey 2, Cool Grey 3, Cool Grey 4, Cool Grey 5, Forest Green, Mustard, Pear Green, Pink Carnation, Rose Pink, Tan, Vanilla and Warm Grey 2 Promarkers. The sentiment is from LOTV's Sentiments to Fit Scroll set which should really go with the Geisha Companion Set but you can use them on anything.

Anywho, I hope you like it! I think it's come out quite well and don't forget to check out to DT blogs from the LOTV Ideas to Inspire page and leave a comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win the new stamps from the launch on Wednesday!

A Bit of Patchwork

I don't think I've posted any patchwork for about a year, which is very bad seeing as I do quite a lot of sewing. These didn't take me all year, I just haven't done any for ages! I did the first one last January and actually managed to post it on here but I've only recently started doing it again. I really love doing patchwork so I'm not sure why it's taken so long to pick it up again.

The blocks are part of a quilt from a part work magazine called The Art of Quilting (which I mention in the first post about this) and I've managed to do five more blocks in the last few days so thought I would share them with you.

From top left to bottom right: Double Four-patch, Sailing Boat, Shoo Fly, Trafalgar Square, Windmill, Checker Square.

I'm actually missing a patch from this, the Whirlwind, because I accidentally cut the pieces out the wrong way on the fabric so it doesn't fit together properly.
I'm quite proud of the Trafalgar and the Windmill squares because I've managed to get the points in the middle of the block to meet properly in the space of making two blocks, Sailing Boat to Trafalgar.

I'm now in the mood to make lots more block, I think there's about 28 I've still got to make, so there should be a few more in a few days!

On another, completely random note I've recently found a fantastic Country music radio station on iTunes called Absolutely Country Hits. It's full of so many songs and artists I've never heard before and loads of my favourites so I've been listening to it for about four days! They've just played a song called Wild at Heart by a band called Gloriana which I think is my new favourite song.
I absolutely love Country, it's the only music that puts me in a great mood in the first two seconds of a song.

Anywho, hope you like the blocks and the song!
